Who thinks we should get one of these at church?
Elim member's family in need: Roxanne Haines was formerly Roxanne Baker before her divorce from Robert. She is a member of Elim but cannot attend because of her work hours. We gave her daughter Karli Ann a baby shower a few years ago. Karli Ann, her husband Zane, and their daughter Faith (almost 2) lost everything they owned in a house fire at 20th & Adams this morning. They are temporarily living with Roxanne. Faith wears 3T to 4T clothes and size 7 in toddler shoe sizes. They appreciate any donations. There is also a Go Fund Me page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/jun3a-house-fire?pc=fb_dn_cpgnsharemore_r&fbclid=IwAR3B_QmfcCr2KjxBY8Dt6YPAw-4Arh4p0A3oDW7nQUNitF11MClybPsqc6M

Family Promise of Ogden will hold its second annual Bed Race Fundraiser at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at Newgate Mall. We are invited to put together a racing team and bed to compete! Family Promise of Ogden is a coalition of churches committed to helping families with children move from homelessness to independence. Families are provided with meals, shelter and transportation as well as social services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while they work to obtain employment and permanent housing. The Bed Race is the main fundraiser for Family Promise. The entry fee is $125, and 5 people are needed for your team – 1 rider and 4 pushers. You get to design you wheeled bed any way you want to. The way to really bring in the most donations will be through finding sponsor(s) for your bed and team. We recommend starting sponsorships at $100, but all donations are gratefully welcomed.
Breakfast with friends is a great way to start an Easter morning!
Mike probably thought he was going to be filling all those Manna Bags by himself. But like the "Electric Slide" at a wedding reception, once everyone saw how much fun he was having...they all wanted to get in on the act! Many hands make short work. We stopped only once the toothpaste ran out!
Here's a few photos (thanks to Gloria) from the Lutheran service at the George E Whalen Veterans Home on Sunday, February 19th. This is a very satisfying opportunity to give back to our community and to the men and women who sacrificed so much during their time serving our country while in the military. Upcoming services that will be hosted by Elim (and for which we will need volunteers) are: Sunday, March 26th Sunday, April 30th Give Dave Thomas a call at the church office to get more information on how you can be a part of this wonderful ministry.
